Overview

Tep is the goddess of night, death and the moon. Tep the moon goddess, covers the sky with the cloak of darkness so that the souls of the dead may move up to eternal sleep. The moon is one of Tep's eyes. Tep is a neutral deity and is often dismayed at the Serevmen worship of day which is why of most races, Serevemen are affected the most by evil undead.

Not a very popular religion, as night is feared by many.

Symbolism

No physical representation of Tep, but artefacts and symbols include crescent moons, stars, broken red skulls, and the Combined Sigil: the sigil of evil in black joined to the sigil for faith on a white background.

Worship

Usually individual, with no particular time of day for worship. Burials, deaths, births and such generally have a ceremony of some sort.

Isimoosim: Every Red Moon a festival is held where the clerics wear silver masks of stars and crescent moons, feasting on a small hill, burning with small fires dotted around the hillside. All people are welcome to join this Festival of the Red Moon.

Noctoosim: Every Black Moon the clerics don masks of red broken skulls, for this is not a festival of feasting, but a time of great danger. This festival is a march, each cleric bearing a candle or banner, and they march to remind all of the dangers present at this time.

Noctisimoosim: the eclipse of Red and Black Moons, the Festival of the Hunt. this festival begins at dusk with feasting and prayer. then all premnars are advised to return to their homes, and the clerics march and some remain to protect the settlement, while other actively hunt out any undead in the area. During this time the clerics may wear either mask but do not carry banners or candles.

Temples

The Tepeln religion has churches as its temples. Usually very plain, small and either alone and a small distance away from a settlement, or else as part of a graveyard. Windows are unimportant to the Tepeln, nor are decorations or furnishings wanted. The church is filled with a few rows of pews, divided down the middle and facing each other. This is to allow quick and easy access, both into the church and from the church. At the head end is the simple alter. Adorned with a few candles and other religious items needed for the typical ceremonies that the church performs. Each church also has an underground chamber or two and occasionally a few secret chambers as well. One of the obvious chambers is the inhabiting cleric's room, the other is their living quarters. Cooking and such is done in the church proper or even outside.

When part of a graveyard the church often has a small outbuilding attached that is utilised as storeroom and workshop. Often a hidden entrance into the church is concealed in this outbuilding for emergency use.

If there is no church within reach then the Tepeln cleric may utilise any clear surface to perform most rituals. however, Manc creation can only be performed within consecrated ground. Tepeln clerics can use any temple or church as their own.

Arch-Diocese

The Tepeln religion does not really have a coverage like the other religions of The Lands of Law. It has many small churches with only a few inside settlements, but are often discrete and unobvious to the visitor.
