This scrambling perennial wild flower grows usually between two to just under six feet in height or length, but its habit often makes it appear much shorter, growing through and over other plants. Flowers occur in Thirdpentawaek and flower through to Sixthpentawaek. They are purple with yellow centers, these then produce green small berries which turn red as they ripen.

The plant has many uses:

Use 1: Gathering the plant or a pound in weight of wood and leaves and brewing in wine, produces a brew good for blood clots, breathing difficulties and bruising damage. It needs to brew for four Passages and then drank. The brew lasts for thirteen days but must be re-heated before consuming.

Use 2: Using the stems to make a poultice with some Wood Sorrel is very useful for skin complaints and simple diseases of the skin. Keep on the affected area for a day, refreshing with warm water as it dries out.

Use 3: The flower sprig if picked can aid against witchcraft and some simple spirits that mean harm or are evil, preventing them from approaching or disrupting their powers over those who wear or carry it. It Bittersweet berries does not harm the witch or spirit but disturbs them. If this part of the plant is tied around the neck before climbing or ascending great heights it can prevent light dizziness from the height in its wearer.

Use 4: Consuming the berries in can be dangerous, however, for every 2D6 berries consumed there is a 35% chance of a mild poison effect occuring. Taking the form of excessive saliva production and sweating it causes dehydration and weakness for 1D4 Movements depending o Endurance.
