Sometimes it is better to start something over. Sometimes, things need to be disassembled. This Manc does exactly that. It returns something to its earlier state. In most cases this is a spearation of its component parts, as. at that point. each part made the whole.
A single part can be targeted, although very hard if small or moving, and that part alone will then be restored to its earlier time. On living beings this Manc only removes conditions, usually through Manc, herbalism, or some other form of application. It has no effect on diseases, poisons (or any form of poison such as toxins or venoms), damage or natural decomposition, or aging upon living beings. On inanimate objects, however, it can clean them, restore any natural corrosion or aging, or even remove minor damage that has not fundamentally altered its functioning. This means it can repair a notch or a crack in a mechanism, but can not replace or repair a component part such as a cog, wheel, brace, flange, or such.
This Manc will dissaemble any mechanical device, which may cause injury if components are under stress, or break an item down into its component parts. Again, it must be stressed that in their operating positions this can be dangerous to those within range (due to suddenly released parts previously under tensionand the like) or to the device being restored. If the target item is placed on a steady surface ready for the Restoration, then this is unlikely to occure, and a simple break down into its parts will commence.
When restoring a device or item into component parts, the individual
parts unlock, disconnect, separate as if by the hands of an invisible
worker. The parts seemingly become animated and move of their own
accord. If there is room they will lay out neatly, but if the area is
small a heap of parts may be formed. If the item being restored is to
an earlier time, condition, or situation the item merely seems to morph
into its restored state. Sometimes there seems no change, as the change
could be imperceptible or unknown.
The target must be clearly seen and within range. The target must be touched, either by the user wielding the item, or else by the item itself. There is no Duration as it happens as quickly as it can, d epending upon the complexity, number of parts, and size of the target item, it can take from a single Round to many Rounds for the Restoration to finish.
This Manc can not make a Manc item Virgin, nor remove Manc or qualities imbued upon it, but it could return a fashioned staff into a plain one, remove a metal shod foot from a staff, separate the scroll paper from the scroll roll, remove print from a page, repair a tear in a piece of cloth or armour, make a crossbow a series of wooden crafted pieces, crossbow twine, metal parts, and a bolt.
Any item targeted that is currently moving, being wielded by another, or in operation requires some agility from the user to accurately strike the target. As touch is essential for this Manc this requires some dexterity and intellect to acieve at times. In combat, this is a most reckless Manc, unless the user has other ways to protect themselves or become better than their opponent.
Living beings with Manc currently active upon them may be removed of this Manc with Restoration. The specific Manc they have active should explain if Restoration will negate it. If the target does not wish for it to me reomved they get a Save Vs Manc against this Manc. Success meaning this Manc fails against them. The active Manc they have upon them is negated or postponed, but no other effect from this Manc. A further casting of this Manc upon them may of course restore other parts or facets of their current state, such as ointments, herbs, talismans, etc.
This Manc never has any effect against curses, hexes, effects from illusions or phantasmal forces, except, at the most, to temporarily remove them. Again, this will be detailed in that effect's description.
Once cast upon a target it can not be dispelled unless it has yet to
finish restoring the target, where it then stops the process at the
point reached. Also, this Manc may be used to undo a restoration, if
cast within a time, equal to 1 Day minus the initial Restoration user's
Level in Turns. (For example a sword restored into its parts by a Level
10 Mancer, could be restored back into a sword by another Mancer within
14 Passages (1 Day (80 Turns) minus 10 Turns = 70 Turns = 14 Passages.)
