The benefits of using metal in tools, weapons, armour and other everyday items is obvious. Flexibility in use, form, and design, but perhaps mostly it is its strength that the metal is utilised. Manc Metal gives any metal, at the creation of the item being imbued much greater strength and resiliance to all things, be that manipulation or corrosion. The metal having this Manc is unaffected in any other way except the strengthening and the gaining of a Manc aura which varies in strength dependent upon the creator of the Manc Metal item.
Weapons or armour made of Manc Metal usually shrug off any normal weapon attacking it, but this can also be dependent upon the strength of the wielder or the force of the attack. Manc weapons attacking the Manc Metal item are effectively neutralised, but affect the Mance Metal item as if it had no benefit from the Manc applied to it. In effect Manc weapons ignore the Manc Metal but in turn affect it as if they were also normal. Manc Metal is no less heavy than normal metal.
Effectively any metal item could have this Manc cast upon it at creation, but it is typical for specific items to be used as these are the easiest and most beneficial. Items typically made Manc Metal includes Full armour, armour by the piece, helmets, shields, weapons, and then come the tools and everyday items.
The item once made is permanently affected by the Manc Metal.
However, if the item is destroyed, or damaged beyond its usefulness, it
is considered destroyed and the Manc Metal is negated, rendering the
metal once again normal. There is no Maiden metal for this Manc. Dispel
Manc negates the effect of the Manc Metal, but only for a short while,
usually for the Level of the Banish Manc caster's Level in Passages.
E.g. a Level 4 Mancer casting Banish Manc (the minimum Level needed to
be able to cast Banish Manc) upon a wearer of Manc Metal armour, would
cancel its effect for 1 Movement (Level 4 x 1 Passage = 4 Passages = 1
Movement), whilst a Level 8 Mancer casting Banish Manc would negate the
Manc Metal for half a Day (Level 8 x 1 Passage = 8 Passages = 2
Movements = ½ Day).
Virgin pieces of Manc Metal items take as long as it takes to make
the piece without the creation affecting that time, as the Mancer
creating the Manc Metal performes whatever necessary rituals, words,
gestures etc. during the making of the item. The Mancer must be there
the whole time however, and may make the item themselves, thus saving
them a -2 off the Level after all considerations have been taken into
account to a minimum of Level 2. E.g. a wizard making a Standard Sword
(ABV 4) would be a Level 8 attempt, making the sword himself, from
scratch, however, reduces that Level by 2 to only a Level 6 attempt.
The same wizard making a dagger (ABV 1), normally at Level 2,
unfortunately still creates it at Level 2.
