Also known as Manc Missile, this is quite a unique Manc as it has no items associated with it and can not be cast as a spontaneous spell either. However this Manc can, with a great ceremony, be imbued within the Mancer where it remains permanently for their use. This Manc manifests as an arrow, or missile of Manc energy that unerringly strikes its target as specified by the Mancer. The range is Line Of Sight, so in some hands is a very deadly, long-range weapon indeed. It has no shape save for being elongated and around an inch in diameter, but its form varies, as does its colour, from Mancer to Mancer. The Mancer can specify a colour if they so desire when performing the permanent ceremony.
When cast it fires a single Manc Arrow at the target that unerringly
hits if nothing else gets in its way. It can actually swerve around
small stationary targets, like tree trunks, as long as there are not
too many of them
and nothing greater than a slight curve is required. The target must
have been in Line Of Sight at the casting and the Manc Arrow can not
curve around cover to hit the target unless they are right at the edge
of the corner and partially in sight. This single arrow does 1D6+2
Wound Levels. While hurtling towards its target it is feasible that it
could be stopped. The casting Mancer can dispel it at will. Any solid
obstruction in its path suddenly will cause it to strike it, thus
Visible Wall, Invisible Wall, Protection From Evil and such defensive
Manc will be a barrier to it. Fire Wall, Smoke Screen or any other
non-solid barrierhave no effect on its path except for blocking Line Of
Sight. Banish Manc dispels it if it can be cast upon the speeding arrow
in time. Freeze, Vaporize,Stone and other Manc that transforms
something into something else permanently will transform the arrow into
that substance (remembering any available Saves), but any logical
effects will continue with that new form. This means that Freeze or
Stone arrows, for example, will continue to act as missiles, and will
follow nature's courses in regards to distance travelled and arcs of
fire and such.
When gaining this Manc, the Mancer can fire up to three Manc Feepas per day. Each Level then gained by the Mancer gains an extra Manc Feepas to their daily Charges. These daily Charges can be fired in quick succession, or throughout the day as wished. They can not be held over to the next day and so each new day has a new quota of Charges. Once the Mancer has gained an extra arrow they can also begin to split the single arrow into smaller arrows which each does less damage, comparable to the single shot but divided by the number of splits the Mancer can make. The actual Level of the Mancer has no bearing on the number, only how many Levels have been gained since gaining this Manc. For example: a Level 1 Mancer and a Level 10 Mancer, who both gained this Manc at the same time, both only have 3 Manc Arrows per day, and can only split those individual Charges into two once they have gained another Level. For each Level gained since first gaining this Manc, the Mancer can split one of his daily charges into that many lesser arrows, again, with each being proportionately weaker, to the single arrow, by the number of splits.
A hand is essential to cast this Manc if split arrows are required. A single arrow can be cast from an outstretched arm or hand or even a single finger, but if splits are to be made, then the fingers must be splayed in the number equal to the number of splits being made.
Spell Ceremony:-
This ceremony can only be performed successfully once. Success or
failure of the first attempt is irrelevant, after this first attempt any
subsequent attempts are ritual wastes of time. The Mancer either
succeeds first time or will never be able to use Manc Feepas. Some
Mancers hold back in their experience until such a Level that success
is much more likely. The advantage of having this Manc at a low Level
is that by the time experience has gained the Mancer considerable
power, they will have several Charges per day and many multiple splits
are possible. The advantage to waiting until a greater Level is
obvious: a much greater chance of success. (Whatever the result of
attempting this Manc, a note should be made of the success or failure
of Manc Feepas.)
