Drinelindan compels living creatures to act in a caring, friendly way toward the caster. Instinctive creatures will not harm the caster but may well ignore them. Low or semi-intelligent creatures respond favourably towards the caster and will protect the caster if at all possible. Creatures of normal intellect will behave in a most friendly and favourable way to the caster, perhaps almost overbearingly so. Highly intelligent creatures will treat the caster as if they were a close friend and their equal.

The befriended creature will, if at least Low Intelligence, obey the caster as long as the caster can communicate or train the creature, but at no time will the creature purposely kill itself. An order from the caster, which is something the creature would normally find alien, causes an immediate Save vs Manc each time that sort of order is given. Failure does not ensure completion of the order, an intelligence roll must be made:

Intelligence must be made:

This Manc does not work upon undead, animated objects or golems, nor any omnipotent creatures, or creatures composed of inanimate or incorporeal matter.

The spontaneous spell can be cast at -1 Power Level, but this allows the creature to act normally. Orders can not be given, only requests, although the creature will still prefer the caster to any other creature.

Vocals, gestures and a smile are required to use this Manc. Mindcasting increases the Power Level by +1. Lack of gestures increases the Power Level by +2, and the lack of a smile by +4. All Power Level modifiers are cumulative.

Item Creation:-

Ingredients include red or white rose petals, a diamond or carnelian worth 200gp, crushed or powdered Disthane (Kyanite) of about 2lbs. worth.

A Yarlap-mere's tear lowers the Power Level by -5 Levels, a Sharis-mere's tear lowers the Power by -7 Levels, and a drop of Galaniŕ blood lowers a Magician's Power of the Manc by -1. The Galaniŕ blood may be used cumulatively with any of the tears, but only one kind of tear can be used in a creation. A circular Üolarm is imperative for success.
