History:

Lucky Lewis was already leader of a New York gang when the mob underworld became dissorganised after the Green Goblin failed attempt to take control of Lucky Lobo's gang when the entire gang was arreseted after Spider-Man interferred in the Goblin's scheme Realising he could attempt to unit all the New York mobsLucky Lewis decided it would be easier if his identitywas obscured and so devised the identity of Crime Master.

Approching the Green Goblin, they agreed to an aliance and to remove the chance of back-stabbing each other they revealed their true identities to each other.Although the alliance did not last long, overconfident Crime Master dissolved their alliance and instead offered the Goblinthe chance to become one of his paid flunkies. Enraged the Green Goblin vowed revenge and left.

First, Crime Master had to unite the mobs, in one case he absailed down the side of a building of a gang hideout and threw a bomb through the window.Luckily for the gang it was a phoney bomb and contained an ultimatum to the gang to join with the crime Master. In other mobs he blew-up a boss' car, and shot dead another gang leader after breaking into his hideout. Eventually, the remaining mobs agreed to back Crime Master and he arranged for a meeting at a deserted pier on the waterfront in Manhatten's West Forties.

Crime Master discovered that reporter, and former crime boss, Frederick Foswell was on the way to working out his secret identity. He set up to ambush Foswell outside his apartment while on route to the waterfront meeting, but mistakenly shot at the silhouette of Spider-Man instead. They fought and Crime Master managed to dose Spider-Man with his gas and punch him off a rooftop. Fuelled with overconfidence once again, he tried to kill the Green Goblin, before continuing to the meeting to take control of the mobs.

Meanwhile the Goblin fought with the very much alive Spider-Man and beat him, carrying his unconscious body to the meeting and prooved to the mobsters which leader was better, the Green Goblin over the Crime Master. While this take over was udnerway Spider-Man broke free and battled them all as the police arrived. Crime Master fled into the sewers, preventing Spider-Man from following with his gas. Spider-Man convinced that Foswell was Crime Master headed off to the Daily Bugle to capture him. The Crime Master was now sure that Foswell had tipped the police and would soon reveal the Crime Master's true identity decided to prevent him from doing so. He headed to a building opposite the Bugle and saw Foswell in J. Jonah Jameson's office along with Spider-Man and thought he would kill all three.Foswell, however, had deduced that Lewis was Crime Master and predicted the rooftop assasinationand so alerted the police to such. The police tried to apprehend Crime Master and a firefight broke out with Crime Master being mortally wounded. As he tried to reveal the green Goblin's true identity, as a last attempt at revenge, he died before he could do so.
