SPIKE: WOOD
This is usually a 12 inch (30cm) long, 2 inch (5cm) in diameter
cylinder (or 2 inch (5cm) square) piece of wood with a point at one end
and a flat-end at the other for hammering. Made from a single worked
piece of wood, whittled or cut into shape. The point may be anything up
to half the length of the spike, but typically only a third. Designed
for many uses from rope fasteners for tents or climbing, to wedging
into doors to keep them shut, for spiking big guns, or for prying open
closed containers (if a crowbar or chisle is unavailable). Some even
use them as makeshift grappling hooks (fastening two together to form a
cross on the end of a rope). Also useful as a steak against vampires or
other such creatures.
May come in smaller, thicker, thinner, double-spike, or even larger versions. Adjust weight and cost as appropriate.
Weight: 12oz (340g)
