ROPE
This is a group of fibre or wire strands, twisted together to form
a strong tensile, multi-use length. Natural or synthetic fibres can be
used, but all must be twisted in an even braid so that the strength of
all the fibres work in unison, rather than the weakest taking the
greater strain. Generally ropes are any form of string or cord-like
material that is 9mm and greater in thickness.
Uses for rope are immense, but generally are tying and binding,
lifting, pulling, or securing uses. Many are made to withstand water or
submergance, some are designed for wear and heat resistance, others
just for their tensile strength.
For conveinence rope comes in Lightweight (tying/climbing);
Mediumweight (support/lifting/securing); and Heavyweight
(securing/lifting/pulling).
Weight: Varies: 11oz-2lbs-4.4lbs. (300g-907g-2kg) per 3 feet (1m).
