I.Q.
Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.): is the character's intelligence.
The actual I.Q. is equal to this number x10.
I.Q. = 1-6 are dull-witted and very slow in thought.
I.Q. = 7-9 slightly below average.
I.Q. = 10-13 is average intelligence.
I.Q. = 14-16 is above average intelligence.
I.Q. = 17+ is exceptional, the higher the more briliant the character.
I.Q. of 16 or higher gain a one-time bonus to all skill percentages,
including O.C.C. skills, O.C.C. Related skills, and even Secondary
skills:-
- 16 = +2%
- 17 = +3%
- 18 = +4%
- 19 = +5%
- 20 = +6%
- 21 = +7%
- 22 = +8%
- 23 = +9%
- 24 = +10%
- 25 = +11%
- 26 = +12%
- 27 = +13%
- 28 = +14%
- 29 = +15%
- 30 = +16%
- 31+:
- Bonuses after 30 continue at +2% for every five additional I.Q.
points (35 = +18%, 40 = +20%, 45 = +22%, etc.).
- +1 Perception rolls for every 10 points above 30.
- Save Vs Illusion: 31-33 = +1, 34-36 = +2, 37-39 = +3, 40-42 =
+4, 43-45 = +5, 46-48 = +6, 49+ = +7.
I.Q. of 7 or 8 means the character is a little slow and has
trouble learning, roughly equivalent to a 12-15 year old. They have the
following modifiers:-
- Number of O.C.C. Related skills is halved.
- +1D4 Secondary skills.
- Will lean away from complex skills or ones that require lots of
book-study and details to remember. Will lean towards physical and
practical skills including: Domestic,
Horsemanship, Mechanical, Physical, W.P.s, Wilderness and base
skills such as Radio: Basic,
Basic Electronics, Automotive Mechanics, Aircraft Mechanics, First Aid, Truck, Hover Vehicle, Pick Pockets, Palming, etc.
I.Q. of 5 or 6 means the character is slow, dim-witted, and probably
rather child-like, roughly equalto a 8-10 year old. They have the
following modifiers:-
- Number of O.C.C. skills is reduced by 4.
- Number of O.C.C. Related skills halved.
- All Skill bonuses are halved.
- +1D4+2 Secondary skills.
- Complex skills are impossible to learn (i.e. couldlearn Basic
Mechanics or Automotive Mechanics but not Locksmith or Aircraft
Mechanics).
- Will lean away from skills that require a lot of practice, study,
or details. Willlean towards simple skills including: Domestic, Horsemanship, Physical, W.P.s, Wilderness.
I.Q. of 3 or 4 means a feeble mind with a mind equal to a 4or 5 year
old child. They have the following modifiers:-
- Number of O.C.C. skills are halved. Only O.C.C. skills get a
bonus.
- Only 1D4 O.C.C. Related skills with no additional skills with
level advancement.
- +1D4
Secondary skills to start, and +1 new Secondary skill at Levels: 3, 6,
10, and 15 (ignoring what the O.C.C. usually allows).
- Can not learn to read or write.
- Can only learn most rudimentary of skills; mainly: Domestic, Physical, and Wilderness skills.
I.Q. of 1 or 2 means the character is like a 2 year old child. They
have the following modifiers:-
- Only get 1D4 O.C.C. skills.
- No O.C.C. Related skills at all.
- Only 1D4 Secondary skills.
- No skills gained through experience.
- Skills do not get any skill bonuses.
- Base Skill Proficiency and Level advancement are halved (rounded
down). [I.e. if the skill was 30%, +5% per level of experience, this
character would only get 15%, +2% per level of experience.]
- Barely remembers their own name, can only learn the simplest of
skills (at the substandard level) and normally needs to be told what to
do.
