ETIQUETTE

Good use of etiquette normally increases the user's impression upon those around them, or avoids reducing the user's impression upon those around them. It can, at times however, if used in the incorrect situation cause the reverse result wished,  even if used very well. This reversal is usually when the user shows others around them to be less skilled in etiquette and thus can make them feel inferiour or ridiculed.

There are three main categories of etiquette: hygiene, curtesy, and cultural norm. Hygiene is the understanding or following of etiquette that dictates how to be clean or not pass germs and cause infections to oneself or others. Curtesy etiquette deals with putting others interest before onself and displaying self-control and intent for the benefit of others in order to be trusted. Cultural norm applies to etiquette within a social clique or cultural circle. Dieregarding or failing to obey etiquette usually results in suffering either ridcule or alienation from others that recognise it.

Etiquette is most often used for status or ethical code, but can also be applied to fashion, tastes, and current interests.
