ARMOUR DESCRIPTION

BANDED MAIL:
This armour is made of overlapping strips of metal sewn to a backing of leather and chainmail. The strips cover vulnerable areas, while the chain and leather protect the joints and provide freedom of movement. Straps and buckles distribute the weight evenly. The suit includes gauntlets. To don Banded mail takes 4 minutes, this time may be halved if the character has some help to do so. To hastily don banded mail armour takes 1 minute, but the armour then suffers a -1 penalty to its Armour bonus and Armour check penalty. To remove banded mail armour takes 1 minute, this time may be halved if the character has some help to do so.Leather armour (picture by Lars Grant-West from the PHB 3.5 Page 125)

LEATHER ARMOUR:
The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armour are made of leather that has been stiffened by boiling in oil. The rest of the armour is made of softer and more flexible leather. To don leather armour takes 1 minute. To hastily don leather armour takes 5 Rounds, but the armour then suffers a -1 penalty to its Armour bonus and Armour check penalty. To remove leather armour takes 1 minute, this time may be halved if the character has some help to do so.

SHIELD, LIGHT WOODEN:
You can bash with a shield instead of using it for defence. You strap a shield to your forearm and grip it with your hand. A light shield's weight lets you carry other items in that hand, although you can not use weapons with it. Wooden shields offer the same basic protection as steel shields, though they respond differently to special attacks (such as Warp wood, and Heat metal). To don a shield takes 1 move action. To remove a shield takes 1 move action. A shield can not be donned hastily.
Shield Bash Attacks: you can bash an opponent with a light shield, using it as an off-hand weapon. Used this way, a light shield is a martial bludgeoning weapon. For the purpose of penalties on attack rolls, treat a light shield as a light weapon. If you use your shield as a weapon, you lose its SC bonus until your next action (usually in the next Round). An enhancement bonus on a shield does not improve the effectiveness of a shield bash made with it, but the shield can be made into a magic weapon in its own right.
